Turn of the Screw

Composed by Benjamin Britten, this is in operatic ghost story taking place in an old country estate. This particular opera is a recreation of the original design shown at Canada's Garsington Opera. The idea communicated to me of the set was dirty, rusty, disgusting, but with some portions of the original building peaking back through everything.

My responsibility for this opera consisted of working with the charge to learn paint treatments, mixing textures, mixing paints, keeping track of volume of textures/paints used on scenery I was leading the process of, leading the treatments of certain scenery, teaching apprentices wherever necessary, writing out processes and techniques for touch-up, organizing materials, and understanding when different techniques need to be used to speed up the process.
